Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Like others have been doing with their OPCs, my brother has been hounding OPC Reading about the lack of updates for PCM2.0, and after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, got an email from them on Thursday saying they have "chased up Germany and they have confirmed that there will be an update disc coming out at the end of July or begining of August". Maybe all the nagging will come to something at last........

POST 2Original post

Any indication on the likely cost Richard ? Eddie

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No indication yet, but the 2005 maps were £350 (inc VAT and 15% off) in February, so I expect the new ones will be about the same.

POST 4Original post

good to see porsche maintaining their premium pricing not ! [8D]

POST 5Original post

What a rip-off. You could buy a TomTom for that which is ten times better than the ark-like PCM2.

POST 6Original post

Agreed, £350 is ridiculous. Any news on us old PCM1 owners?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I understand that Gerard Mahoney at SatNavShop has 2008 maps for PCM1 16 bit systems, but if you have an 8 bit system you are stuffed.

POST 8Original post

Richard, how would I know if I have a 16 bit system?

POST 10Original post

Bloomin heck!!! Think I'll make to do with the curret discs.

POST 11Original post

Spoke with a Porsche Centre; Porsche offer a navigation software and disc update for the PCM 2 which will give you the latest disc set on offer from Porsche, brief description as follows: [/LIST] Subsequent update of navigation data to MY '08 data version A new update to the model year '08 data version is available for the navigation data in Porsche Communication Management 2.0 (PCM2.0). The maps cover new countries and are much more detailed. There are more points of interest (POI) available for selection. As a result, considerably more tourist information (hotels, restaurants, car parks, service stations, etc.) is provided. Cost of upgrade is : £349.56 + vat Workshop installing cost: £ 77.00 + vat Total £501.20 inclusive of vat This has only just been released by Porsche and can be installed while you wait. And it still doesn't offer TMC!

POST 12Original post

77 quid to install ?????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!! plus vat !

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just browsing through the PET (like you do) and noticed something I don't recall seeing before: 000.044.900.82 - Navigation PCM1.0 Update (911 & Boxster 98-02) - cd-rom update pcm 8 fold - £367.97 +VAT. I have no idea of the date of the update, but it might be worth checking out to see if it compatible with 8-bit PCM.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just got an email from OPC Reading to say that the PCM2.0 2008 navigation CDs for Europe are now available. The part number for the retrofit kit is 000.044.901.20 and it is £349.56 +VAT.
