Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Spoke to the guys at specialist cars who reckon it would be the same money to put a sports exhaust on as opposed to replacing with OE .
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

its not in imminent danger of disintegrating but i'll have to consider changing it at sometime. Spoke to the guys at specialist cars who reckon it would be the same money to put a sports exhaust on as opposed to replacing with OE . Whats the weapon of choice for sports/aftermarket exhausts on the 996 (mines aC2 on a 99 plate)??
cheers
Dejan had a sports exhaust done at Northway for c.£1300 i think. PM him for info.
Also look at the oettle ones on ebay.
Mine is also about to give way, so I need a replacement.
Hi
As Josh says Northway in Reading are fitting the switchable exhausts mine came to £1200 + vat and around £250 for fitting but best to call them for a quote. Only 1 day turnaround too.
Car sounds much better for it.
Hi Zeb
+1 for the switched PSE - I'm not sure where you are in lancs but if you don't mind a short drive down the M6 then give Mike a call at
www.sportsandclassic.com
(knutsford)
I got a deal similar to the one OPC are offering, and he'll do the oettle if thats the route you want to go.

Can you describe the baffle rattle? Mine rattles a little a bit on idle (on the rear near side), but it goes when I rev the engine. It's an 03 and done 40k miles.
Was going to ask the OPC (for a steering lock problem) and the Indy (disc + pads replacement) to have a listen, but forgot both times!
same as that really GD....near side rear on idle, disappears after acceleration
simon - I'm in sunny ( ) lytham so knutsford is do-able from here with a quick blast down the M6 as you say
...lol...i think mine might be gone too then! I get a similar rattle also...
Don't know if it's a blessing in disguise or what, as i had decided not to spend any more on the car other than those things that were totally necessary. I suppose i have to upgrade the exhaust though right....no point replacing like for like?
