Suggestion

A lot of people seem to recommend adjustable LCAs in the front to help with camber, and adjustable toe links in the rear to help bring the caster/toe in check due to increased camber.

Suggestion

I can understand using it as a means to get more negative camber for track use, but I've seen some sources say they were able to get to -2d front and rear using the stock 987 LCAs, which seems like plenty for a DD car that doesn't see any track time.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello all, hoping to get advice from the suspension gurus I always see around here. This is cross-posted from ********. I have a stock 2005 Boxster S that I'm looking to lower. For now, I'm going the route of using H& R Springs ; I may consider coilovers in future but I'm not focusing on them now. I've been reading a lot into suspension setups, specifically how to rectify the increased caster and toe that accompanies the inherent negative camber increase that comes with lowering. A lot of people seem to recommend adjustable LCAs in the front to help with camber, and adjustable toe links in the rear to help bring the caster/toe in check due to increased camber. My question is, do you really need adjustable LCAs for a mildly lowered street car? I can understand using it as a means to get more negative camber for track use, but I've seen some sources say they were able to get to -2d front and rear using the stock 987 LCAs, which seems like plenty for a DD car that doesn't see any track time. I'm hoping to start at Cayman R alignment values once I install the new springs; is it possible to hit those numbers using the stock suspension components and lowering springs only? I guess I'm just fuzzy on the exact benefits an adjustable LCA brings to the suspension. Adjustable rear toe links I may still get since I'm always leery about eccentric bolts holding alignment, especially in some of the rough roads we have in the Bay Area. Do they serve any other purpose besides giving more toe adjustment and holding them more accurately? Thanks in advance fellas https://********.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

POST 2Original post

On the front you don't need the control arms to get the OEM camber, you can get at least from -1 to -2 (maybe more) with the factory hats by lowering the suspension. However, on the rear axle you Will Need the adjustable toe links as the factory links will not have enough adjustment to set the correct toe..
