Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
No real change with normal driving, but put your foot into it and the exhaust sounds great.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Porsche had an option for the exhaust that switched from quiet to 'Sport' utilizing a redirect valve of some sort, which would divert the exhaust through a different port into the muffler.
My question is: Since my car [2002 C4] does not have this option, can I just divert the inlet to the muffler to the 'Sport' port and block off the 'quiet' port in a permanent manner?
Thanks,
Drums
The diverter valves on the PSE (Porsche Sports Exhaust) are built into the PSE mufflers, as are the bypass chambers; so there is nothing on your car to change if you do not have the PSE:
yes you can. It is called a Fister mod or gundo hack. Quite common and two ways to do it. Not exactly the way you mention it being done, but these are very common mods.

The first way is the preferred way now.
Same here, same price. Fantastic sound but almost stock sound levels when cruising.
This is the one referred to as the Fister mod. The Gundo hack is similar to the PSE mufflers, except it doesn't have the electric switch.
Old thread, I know. But, interestingly, this one shows two paths for the "bypass" pipe. One is straight between in/out and the other is a small loop. Is one better than the other? Also, there are size options. It looks like both of these are 1.5 in. Probably the way that I'll go. I basically can't hear my motor at all. My wife's stock Jag is way sportier in exhaust tone.
Thanks

Did this last week. Couldn't be happier with the results. Mine look like pezuazo's above. No real change with normal driving, but put your foot into it and the exhaust sounds great.
