Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Every now and then, I got a strong whiff of petrol in the cabin. Just wanted to know if this was normal for a 996 or whether I should get it checked out. I've read a few threads on the 993 forums with a similar issue however, no resolutions were posted .... Cheers, Prav.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

FIXED! Rang PCT up and spoke to a helpful chap called Nick. He advised to check the rubber 'O' ring on fuel filler cap was seated correctly before making a trip to them. He was spot on! O Ring was dislodged and sitting in the cap threads. Took it for a quick spin round a few blocks and no smell! If you read these forums .... Thanks Nick! And thanks Sundeep for your advice ... Cheers, Prav.
