Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What are the various wheel sizes and offsets for the 996 varients? Can you fit GT3 wheels to a normal narrow body? Are the Turbo and C4S the same width and offset? I know the Turbo is hollow spoked, and the C4S isnt..... etc etc :? Any info would be good Cheers Mark

POST 2Original post

Hi Mark, There's some info here at http://www.911uk.com/viewtopic.php?t=34835 Any of the OEM wheels designed for the narrow body 996 will fit on the 6GT3: the GT3 is also a narrow body 996. The wide body wheels as fitted to the C4S/TT/GT2 will not fit well on the 6GT3 because of the offset.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thats what i thought. Its just i do wheel designs for a friend and will be hopefully making some wheels that will fit on the 996 narrow body. (Super Light Weight and Stylish!) So looking at either a set of 18's 8.5" and 11" but not sure if its too big for a standard Carrera? as the tyres will be 235 and 295 Anyway will keep you posted. Just need to confirm Offsets and sizes. Cheers :thumb:

POST 4Original post

11" rears are the size for the wide body cars. 10" is the norm for the narrows Steve

POST 5Original post

Narrow body 996s could accomodate up to 11J comfortably. Wide body 996s ran both 11 and 12s on the rear. They will fit fine. These are the standard Mk2 GT3 size wheels. The size/offset for these to fit a narrow body 996 are 8.5J ET40 (f) 11J ET63 (r) I run these sizes/offsets with a 5mm spacer on my Mk1 and there is no rubbing.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Perfect..... Watch this space and you might see some sexy new wheels! Just need to address the costs for moulds and a small production run!

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
