Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, my 996 Tip has developed a slight "nudge" when speeding up in second gear before it shifts to third. Is that something to be worried about? If so, how can this be fixed. I read a thread on resetting tip gearboxes to factory settings on here - what is that all about? I remember vaguely that my 964 back in 2000 did a similar thing but didn't get any worse. Cheers, Martin

POST 2Original post

Mine has always occassionally clunked when changing up/down to 3rd...someone else was reporting that their Tip did it as well. Not sure what you mean by "nudge", but mine definitely feels more mechanical.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, by nudge I mean a split second power increase around the 3500 rpm mark.........

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
