Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi, I have looked around but couldn't find any specific articles about this. Has anyone ever cut open the chambers on a 987.2 PSE Exhaust? I am trying to find out if there is any potential to remove baffling/ weld in closed piping on the "Open Valve" route through the boxes as it seems a bit quiet still even with the valve open. Looking to go down the route of modifying the PSE backbox first if possible before looking at touching the headers. Thanks, AD.

POST 2Original post

Would it be possible for you to limit how far closed the valve can be rather than having to dig into the exhaust?

POST 3Original post

I used my bore-o-scope on the 981 PSE and this is what I found. It might be same inside the 987.

POST 4Original post

Thanks, I saw this today actually, on another post. Very helpful. Where you have the baffle wall, is it inside the pipe and affecting the flow of gasses or is it just around the outside of the pipe?

POST 5Original post

The baffle wall is perforated and that is where gas flows 100% when PSE valve is closed then goes through the pipe gap and the hole (refer to the drawing/photo I attached), valve closed. I'd love to meet up with 987.2 with PSE one day and compare my 981 PSE . Love mine so much and can't thank enough our forum member Canux for giving his PSE to me free! Now my vanity plate "F6 TUNE" speaks more volume with my 2.7L + PSE .
