Otherwise the values they return are going to be identical in which case it should throw a check engine light representing a bad cat because it would believe that the cat isn't functioning to change the oxygen content in the exhaust stream.

Looks like a nice install, do you have any dyno charts or performance testing from the car?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

26 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

We just finished a 3.8 conversion for a board member.**** picked uphis car this morning and is driving back to PA. I'm sure he will post his comments soon. A 3.8 bi turbo is next/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/angel_smile.gif Neil

POST 2Original post

Looking forward to the first hand driver's report.

POST 3Original post

Wow! Dare I ask what the rough ballpark cost of that was? /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/drivingskid.gif

POST 4Original post

Very nice! I likethat the stock bodywork was retained.

POST 5Original post

Dare I say upwards of 10K? Congratulations on the accomplishment! What did you use to drop the Cayman?

POST 6Original post

Neil, I'm curious about the 2 O2 sensors in the headers with no cat in between. Did you disable one of them via ECU tuning? Otherwise the values they return are going to be identical in which case it should throw a check engine light representing a bad cat because it would believe that the cat isn't functioning to change the oxygen content in the exhaust stream. Looks like a nice install, do you have any dyno charts or performance testing from the car?

POST 7Original post

Ken the Secondary O2 sensors were turned of when we mapped the ECU. Neil

POST 9Original post

What about service? Will a Porche dealer service the car? Warranty? Also, how long did the work take?

POST 10Original post

Any Porsche dealer could do a service as we have tried to keep every thing OEM as much as we could. After the instalation the car was inspected by the dealership here in Atlanta and they did'nt even know that anything had beed done. The dealership ran the PST3 and it had bill of health. The conversion takes 2 weeks and has 12 month warrenty

POST 15Original post

Nice job. I look forward to seeing some dyno feedback.

POST 16Original post

Neil, Another question for you. Those intake runners that look like aluminum, but are perhaps just painted that way on the 3.8L motor, are they the same exact part that is black on the 3.4L motor, just a different color, in other words could you swap them if you wanted aluminum look instead of black?

POST 19Original post

Aesthetics are beautiful! I cannot wait to hear the drivers pre/post description of his CS. Great job!!

POST 22Original post

Man oh man, you've got a real sleeper there. Love the basically stock look with just a hint of something going on. $22K is not bad either. Is there a warranty?

POST 23Original post

KBS911, he mentions above that there is a 1 year warranty.

POST 26Original post

Improves 0-62 to 4.7 seconds. There must be some other more important 'driveablilty' gains as well for $22900. Does that include the upgraded brakes?
