Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Ugh. All of the sudden the shifter went loose. It just flops about. Its like the spring broke (I dont beleive there is a spring based on my search). I can find all the forward gears but no reverse. If I put the shifter all the way left to the left and move up it finds first gear. Cable? Detent? Odd that I can find the forward gears. Should I pull the console or start underneath? Any ideas where to start appreciated.

POST 2Original post

Probably came put of the bracket on the gearbox. Happens frequently.

POST 3Original post

I had that happen after I installed a Function First shifter. Left cable fell off from me not tightening it correctly. Also had no reverse but all forward gears if I approximated where it should be. Pull the boot and try to have a look in there.

Winner! While under there i noticed I have a leaking motor mount! Doh! Thanks all for the replies

POST 5Original post

That has happened to me also. I now drill 1/8’ holes in the ears on the mounts on the gearbox and install a safety wire s the cable ends cannot pop out do=f the bracket
