Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

does anybody make a cayman S supercharger kit yet???

POST 2Original post

Nope. RUF is in development. TPC is developing a Turbo for the CaymanS . No ETA.

POST 3Original post

Heat is going to be the death of that car with any forced induction system.

POST 4Original post

There is actually another one besides RUF in development that I am going to follow up on after parade.

POST 5Original post

do you think they would have a front mount innercooler?... what do you think will be more reliable and would gain more hp..

POST 6Original post

I would imagine that an air/water intercooler would make the most sense. That way you minimize the length of plumbing to improve throttle response. Plus an air/water intercooler is more efficient than a air/air intercooler, which is especially importent on the Cayman since there is limited space in the engine compartment. A seperate remote radiator could be mounted elsewhere (perhaps in the front) to cool the water for the intercooler. RUF does this for their supercharger kits for the 997. The intercoolers are actually built into the intake manifolds. Edited by - AttilaS on 08/08/2006 09:01:55 AM

POST 7Original post

I guess I can have 2 supercharged sports cars. The whole supercharging thing will definitely take a while as the Cayman is still new.

POST 8Original post

what do you think will be better a twin turbo or supercharger and how much hp do you think they will gain and how much money???? thanks

POST 9Original post

You guys are unbelievable.... you must be all Americans since you crave for more induction more horse power. Isn’t it enough you have inside a Cayman S and that is it? You want something stronger and bigger then you must choose different car or different league. Cayman is well balanced car and any addition modificationwould lead to short joy longer trouble. Leave it alone.<o ></o >

POST 10Original post

No its not enough and its not an American thing either. Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 20 years the aftermarket industry has turned into very big business for good reason. The Cayman chassis is begging for more power and can handle it quite nicely. To some owners there is never enough power and knocking them is, well, un American. The right to modify you car might as well be an Amendment.

POST 11Original post

I doubt there is room for a twin turbo setup - although it might be a better route for a flat 6 design - but who knows, the heat might just be too much with turbos spinning like mad a few inches behind your backside. I think small supercharger will be the best bet for packaging although not for driveability or maximum HP. I would venture a guess at $10k minimum.

I guess you really don’t know what you are talking about (you're probably Canadian) but most of the best Porsche tuners are European.<o ></o >
RUF -<st1:country-region w:st="on">Germany</st1:country-region>, 9ff - <st1:country-region w:st="on">Germany</st1:country-region>, Strosek-Germany, Sportec-Germany, <st1:city w:st="on">Techart-</st1:city> <st1:country-region w:st="on">Germany</st1:country-region>, Gemballa-Germany, Miltek-England, <st1 lace w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">ReVo-</st1:city> <st1:country-region w:st="on">England</st1:country-region></st1 lace>...I should really stop.<o ></o >

'I'm with you. It doesn't NEED anything more. Some folks just can't leave well enough alone. That's why we have space exploration ...' wether it needs more power or not is totally subjective and depends on your needs or goals or hobbies for that matter. I think the point Im trying to make is that it isup to the owner. The argument I will make is that the car can handle more power and it will not upset the chassis or balance of the car.

more hp would be great, but the fact of the matter is that 99% of the ppl out there can only use 80% of cayman s ' capability. and IF one can drive 80% of cayman 's ability, he is one hell of a good driver.
