I'm using the 10W50 Millers CFS NT+ Nanotech at the moment, but would prefer this is a 5W50, if it was available.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, Has anyone tried the Porsche Classic 5W50 motor oil, specifically designed for the 986/996 engines? https://www.design911.co.uk/fu/prod...Motoroil-5W-50-for-Porsche-986-Boxster---996/ The part which caught my eye was the anti acid additives to counter corrosive combustion products, especially in cars stood and not used as often. I'm using the 10W50 Millers CFS NT+ Nanotech at the moment, but would prefer this is a 5W50, if it was available. Just got my 3.4 cab back on the road after "a few weeks to get the gearbox rebuilt", turned into a few months, with brake lines, hoses, calliper, spring, shock mount, bumps stop, tray and liner stud repairs, rustproofing, oil leak remedy, OSV bellows, clutch, clutch hydraulics and release lever, brake fluid flush, etc. You know how it goes... "Whilst I'm here, I might as well do that too"!

YPVS-I'll post this VOA from the Porsche 5w50. You can compare with the Millers. I switched from Classic to Millers as personal preference for my motor.
