Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

My CS has had a lot of throttle lag, I have just completed the 'De-snork' and was hoping to improve it, however really no differance... Anyone having similar issues?

POST 2Original post

The De-snork seem to help a little, but could not say how much. I do agree there is some lag in throttle response. This use to bother me, but I guess I am getting to know the car well enough to make it work for me. Trying to blip the throttle at low rpms is pathetic, but get the R's up a little and it is a different story. JMO, Russ

POST 4Original post

3rdclas - the cure to your problem is to rev to 3000 rpm and release clutch. lag only happens when rpm is too low.

POST 5Original post

The Cayman enjoys having the spurs put to it. Don't ease it around if you want response.

POST 6Original post

In first gear you can wind up the revs fast. Once you have it above 4500 rpm, keeping it there will give you all of the throttle response you want IMO. Low end torque is the relm of drag racers (ie Spiccoli in Fast Times when he's driving around with Wasington's little brother in Washingtons Z28). /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/drive.gif

POST 7Original post

I have no real lag in mine at all? You need to drive in the correct RPM range.

POST 8Original post

Thanks for all the response, I do agree, at higher RPM 2500 - 3000+ it is great, it's the blips on the down shift that's the bummer...

POST 9Original post

yep....couldnt agree more....laggy in the pre 3000 arena. i am hoping that maybe eventuallyan ecu flash with one of the aftermarket co.'s like revo, giac, apr, etc... might solve the problem. It seems like it wouldnt be that difficlut to get the car 'chipped' to copy the SC programming that some have that provides that extra ummphh. my audi had an apr chip that i could turn on and off at the stalk...it was great, but i drove with it on all the time. would love to hear from any sponsors that may have future plans in this area...

POST 10Original post

the car is also e-throttle which is adaptive. Sometimes the calibration gets off on the TB and it nned t9 be reset/readaptive. The proceedure is outlined in the service manual i'm sure... dw

POST 11Original post

After the ECU is flashed the car is alot more responsive. Neil

POST 12Original post

I asked an old girlfriend to come over and flash my CS a couple of times, but it did absolutely nothing for throttle response. Got a response out of me though! What am I doing wrong!?

POST 13Original post

LA Boy - its not you, its your car. please send said girlfriend over to my car and have her reflash my Cayman. i'm sure it will work this time.

POST 14Original post

mt647, Will do. My wife really did not like the idea of me calling on an ex-girlfriend to do the flashinganyway. Wife said she thought I misunderstood the whole concept of flashing in the first place. Imagine that! Be prepared though. After the flashing she (the ex)will expect a great effort on your part. Or parts.

POST 16Original post

DaveW, I have looked over the manual, any ideas where I might find something? , I was thinking about calling the deal service dept. , however thought maybe not a great idea with the mods done to my car? Any thoughts?

POST 17Original post

I don't have a cayman service manual infront of me, but if its like other DME/EGAS porsches the adaptation proceedure is as follows: 1. Switch on the ignition. 2. Wait one minute. Do not press the accelerator. 3. Switch off the ignition for at least 10 seconds. 4. Check for codes andverify TB position data(you will need a PST2 or PIWIS for this) You can do it w/o a scantool skipping the last step, but you will not be able to verify that if worked...it usually does though. dave w Edited by - davew on 08/29/2006 9:19:07 PM
