Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For my inner wheel arches and undertrays, I used the threaded rods with a metal perforated disc at the bottom and bonded them on.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi All I'm doing exhausts and had a couple of the threaded studs break which hold the heat shields in place. I've found these porsche parts: 99919034201 - threaded bolt (Pic Attached) Apart from drilling a hole, do you just wind the plastic nut on to get them to expand in the hole, or is it easier to bond a bighead thread on instead? Thanks in Advance Shaun

POST 2Original post

That looks like a rivet, so you'd drill a hole and push it in with a rivet gun. For my inner wheel arches and undertrays, I used the threaded rods with a metal perforated disc at the bottom and bonded them on. Not sure if the heat might not let them bond well though. I can't think what they call them, but they've been linked on here a few times to repair snapped undertray threads.

POST 3Original post

It needs a specialist rivnut type gun which seem to cost around £300 when I looked into it, and that's if you can find one.... If you do find a way of fitting them, they will also work for the plastic under tray fixings that can corrode away, just ensure you thoroughly treat the area you drill out with an appropriate anti-corrosion treatment so that you don't end up with rust holes in your floor in double quick time. BTW A conventional rivnut gun is normally for female threads.
