I went with the new though, it was the same price as you quoted, but my reasoning was that it was a safer purchase, which will problably last this car's lifetime.

If I'm reading the Porsche parts catalog correctly, 99664533102 was used in MY03 cars and has the "A" designation wchich reads "stock to be used up", and was replaced by 99664533103 that has the ">" designation which reads "also available in exchange" - so the latter part should be fine.

I am now looking to replace with the original would anyone be able to confirm the model or part number, the vehicle is a 996 Targa, its non Bose and single din with a factory cd multiplayer, I have attached (fingers crossed) a picture of the connectors if this helps.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Due to a previously documented ***** up of a battery instillation on my part the amplifyer was fried, this was subsequently sent off for repair and lost by the vendor.

Cheers in advance
If you phone an OPC parts dept .. give them your chassis number then ask for the price and availability of the amp they will look it up for you and give you a price .. at that point you can ask for the part number and buy it from where ever you want .
As suggested be DeMort I sourced a quote and the part number from Porsche, as £1,000 for a replacement I went down the second hand route, however the part number 99664533102 seems to be specific to the Targa and unavailable, does any one know if the coup or convertible version are comparable.? And if so would you know the alternative part number.
It's a 2003 non Bose system with multiplayer if that helps.

In fact, I had it bought last year as my amp was dead too, however I have MY04 coupe, so no mystery here.
Looking at the ebay pictures for both, they look identical, with the same connections.
