Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The glove box handle has completley broken off on my 03 996 do i have to buy the whole glove box or can i just get the handle ? also is it an easy ish fix? thanks

POST 2Original post

The handle is available on its own .. Phone an OPC for a price and availability .. you can ask for a part number if you wish and then see if you can get it cheaper else were .. often OPC are actually pretty good on prices .. unlike design 911 at times . Remove the glove box and then undo the lid .. replace the handle and job done .. not a hard job .. maybe middle ish .

POST 3Original post

£121 from OPC. You can get it slightly cheaper using PCGB or TIPEC membership. It does mess up the flocked interior of the glovebox when you remove the retaining fixings though.[/quote]

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so i managed to sort the handle out Porsche in bolton wanted £177 for the handle and 1 hours labour to fit it (it actually took me about 5 minutes maximum to fit) i sourced a 996 glovebox off a very rude man in Leyland who had a Porsche breakers yard and a terrible attitude either way he wanted £120 for it, only the handle was usable as the glove box looked like it had been in a cement mixer for 24 hours. i removed the flock covered screws and popped the 2 struts off from the back, this made the glove box drop right down to the floor and made the 12 screws easy to get out, i then removed the 2 back of handle screws and replaced it. easy peasy, i suspect nothing else on a Porsche will be though
