Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I picked up my brand new Cayman 2.7 on Friday evening and what a blast of a 3-day weekend I have had (it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK today). I've put 450 miles on the clock and grinned through every one of them. However, I have noticed right from collecting it, that when I pull away from rest with very low revs (a thousand or so) the clutch judders slighly. Surely this can't be the 'loose pressure plate bolt' problem can it? If I up the revs by 500 or so and then pull away, then all is smooth. Am I being hyper sensitive? Is it just the clutch bedding in? In my previous car (Audi TT) I was used to being able to feed the clutch in more or less at tickover when crawling in traffic. It seems the Cayman needs a few more revs than this. Anyone else notice this? Marco

POST 2Original post

You are correct - the Cayman needs a few more RPMs to get going - I don't think you need to worry about it. Have fun with your new car, Marco! brad

POST 3Original post

Marco, Yeah! Just give it some revs; I tend to punch a little just as I begin to disengage the clutch - then catch the bite as the the revs fall a little and go from there; took me a week or so to get used to it; so no worries.

POST 4Original post

Perfectly normal. It has a "light-weight flywheel" feel. Easy to stall when you first drive it. Just keep your revs up and you will soon get used to it. Mine is the same way. Welcome to the 2.7 club. The finest of the Caymans.

POST 5Original post

Agreed Thanks for the reassurance, all. I'll use a few more revs from now on. Marco

POST 6Original post

Yup, I've noticed the same thing when releasing the clutch at low revs... like for instance when I'm backing slowly into my parking space. Glad to hear I'm not alone... it sounds like this is normal... for the 2.7 at least.
