I've used Road & Race many, many times and they did all the paint work on my GT2RS build, plus they removed the roof and fitted the new roof panel.

The place mentioned being Porsche 'Approved' is used to painting and repairing new model/high value cars and that comes at a price - at the top of the scale I suspect.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi my 996 c4s needs rear wheel arch full respray plus rust removed and treated, also other wheel arches underneath need rust Treatment and removed ,I'm from the bolton area, any help would be greatful, limited budget,
I've used Road & Race many, many times and they did all the paint work on my GT2RS build, plus they removed the roof and fitted the new roof panel. Can't speak highly enough of them.
Also fitted a new rear bumper on my old 981 Boxster after I had a bump. Perfect job.
They are Porsche approved. If you take your car to Porsche, Bolton, Wilmslow or Stockport for bodywork and/or paint, they send it to Road & Race. They don't get that by being bad at their job.
How good is the rest of the car? The place mentioned being Porsche 'Approved' is used to painting and repairing new model/high value cars and that comes at a price - at the top of the scale I suspect.
You ideally need a good paint shop an Indy recommends that will do decent work for decent money. I've used a Porsche specialist in West Yorkshire (30 mins up the M62 for you) who undertake full restorations and remedial accident/

work alongside Porsche repairs and servicing. The painter is tip top and the price good but that comes with long wait times as they get booked out.
As a benchmark I've just had a big rusty hole cut out my front wing, fibreglass filled and resprayed, front bumper welded up after hitting a deer, resprayed and some other bits touched up for £400 by an outfit I know in Darwen. The quality wasn't up to my standard but the average Joe wouldn't notice.
I've also had a quote off an outfit in Blackburn for a full respray for £1600.
Is that the place Stevie Wonder owns? I thought I was getting a bargain at £1,400 for a full paint job on the MGB at a back street place I found near me. If I'd have known I could have played them off
What does 'Porsche Approved ' actually mean? Any ideas?
Maybe I was just unlucky at Road and Race because in my opinion they are not bad at their job, they are appalling.
The way my car was returned to me was a joke, and I have pictures to prove, but we won't go there. After all they are 'Porsche approved '.
Give Mike at Pro Paint a call for a budget job, 07779800047 you can find him in Bolton on Longson Street opposite the bowling greens.
He sprayed my front bumper, did a good job at a good price. It will give an idea of a price.

He used to work at Road and Race for many years, has high standards but at a more realistic price.

Very disappointed as the filler shrank and the ripples became very obvious. Wouldn't recommend them....
