Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Gator bite----when you do your factory delivery, set the digital to kph (my sales host did it for me).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Is it just me or does anyone else find the 25 mph speedo marking increments a little more difficult to get used to? As far as I can remember on all my previous cars, the major markers have been at 10 or 20 mph increments . With the speed limits on the major roads in the UK at 60 or 70 it takes a second or two longer to work out by how much I am breaking the law! Of course I have the digital reading, but hey - I'm an an old school analogue kind of guy! Marco

POST 2Original post

I hardly look at the analog gauge since I pay attention to the tach mostly, and the all too convenient digital readout.

POST 3Original post

Yes, other cars have incriments at 10 mph or so. But they don't need to sweep to 180 mph now do they? Personally, I wish they would ditch the analogue speedo and drop in an oil pressure and oil temperature gauge in it's place. The digital gauge does just fine for speed.

POST 4Original post

Yes, 0 to 190 mph in 180 degrees of a 3 1/2 inch dial can never be divided very usefully. I have gotten used to using the digital readout---not happy about it and would not have thought it would happen. Gator bite----when you do your factory delivery, set the digital to kph (my sales host did it for me). This is a good application for the redundant readouts.

POST 5Original post

Ed, Funny you mention that. I was just reading the install manual today. Page 122 of the 2006 manual describes how to change the 'units' of the digital speedo. I will probably want to set it to km/h while in Germany. I pick it up on July 16th. Mike

POST 6Original post

+1 ! even my '96 gti indicates oil temp (digital).

POST 7Original post

I hate the markings on the speedometer; it's so hard to read it's practically useless. Since watchmakers can make small dials legible; why can't Porsche do better? As for other gauges, why can't Porsche add more displays on the computer? Oil pressure and temp are more important (to me) than average mph. And, why can't we have two trip odometers?
