So I went to my car today and my remote fob didn't work. Unlocked it, battery was fine, car started up and drove. Got to my destination, fob worked fine to lock the car. Went to go back in, fob worked, got in, turned on radio, showed AMPLIFIER NOT PRESENT. Turned off the car, restarted, same issue. Got out, tried locking the car with the fob, didn't work. Locked manually. Left for about 10 minutes, came back and got in (car was still unlocked), turned on radio, was working fine now so I figured the key would be working too. Got out to lock, but the key fob still wasn't working.
Also, the past few days, I've noticed my side rear dimming mirrors have a distinct blue inside, and a clear ring around them; as if they aren't getting any power. This goes away after some time and it all blends together, but very randomly will turn blue again.
Does the mirror thing ever happen to anyone else? Where you can distinctly see the part that is electrochromic and the part that is not? I've had electrochromic mirrors before, but never had the blue be so distinct.
The amplifier and key fob are on different fuses, but since they work sporadically, I don't think the fuse is the culprit. Car has no other electrical problems either, no PSM failure or anything.
Previous key posts show that sometimes it's just the fob, so I will test the other one when I get home later today. The little light inside on the lock button doesn't blink with the key, so no signal is being received. When I get in, it is detected as key 1.

It was the particular remote... wierd. Amplifier issue hasn't returned, but that blue mirror thing is still kind of creeping me out, any input from owners with the auto dimming mirrors?

Suneet,
Any chance that a harness got pinched or damaged during your PCM install?
I had the mirror issue before the PCM install
The other problems are gone; except of course for that one remote which I suspect needs a new battery or reprogramming.
I guess it might not even be an issue with the mirrors, they're just excessivly blue... - Suneet
I have the same blue in my mirrors from time to time.
Blue ring
I too have the blue ring. Seems to occur when there is just the right combination of glare/light.
If you power off the interior mirror, the blue pretty much goes away on the outside mirrors.
Yea... it's wierd because the electrochromic mirrors I've experienced in my old Acura and SLK don't have the blue and dim just as effectively.
