Managed to get a good discount with black circles ( always worth checking when they have a sale on)as 20% off a set is a worthwhile saving.

I decided on a black finish for the inner barrels..fiddly to keep clean....hide the brake dust a bit.

They look fantastic :thumb: a great service and a nice touch with the progress pictures, did he recommend a particular product for protecting the polished lips?

The attention to detail was a refreshing change with photos of progress being forwarded on a daily basis.

After doing a bit of research I came up with a guy in Scotland 'Mike The Polisher' who set about the task of refurbing them.

So I took a punt on an extremely tired set of 18" OZ Superleggera III 3 peice wheels for my 996tt as I just fancied a new look.
They were absolutely shocking cosmetically but straight and true and the perfect offsets for a wide bodied 996. I've only ever seen them a couple of times in the flesh so they seem to be pretty rare.
After doing a bit of research I came up with a guy in Scotland 'Mike The Polisher' who set about the task of refurbing them. Quite a task but what this guy doesn't know about 3 peice wheel refurbs isn't worth knowing.
The studs are titanium and were sonic cleaned, and then re-frost inside the stud head, and then polished.. they were then sonic cleaned again to get rid of the polish residue.
With the wheels taking shape now it's for some new rubber.

Next to get the tyres fitted.
Always a tense and nerve shredding experience on a nice new set of wheels!!
These have to be mounted on the inner lips so extreme care had to be taken to protect the polished rim which was face down on the machine.
Thankfully no damage done and now ready to fit.
I'm super pleased with the new look even though I'm usually not one for changing from OEM usually I think considering how bad the wheels were before, they look amazing.
I always foregut how much better a car feels with some new tyres on too...........Quite transformational..
The turbo twists will be on for winter but for summer the new wheels make a nice change....
