Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

2005 Boxster S with sport shifter 1. I've noticed a noise when shifting in to 2nd and 4th gear. It sounds like a couple coins or pieces of plastic colliding. Like a small chunk coming from beneath the shifter itself. It happens infrequently and irregularly. Different speeds, different shifting aggression, cold or warm. Any thoughts? 2. My wipers have started making a mechanical noise when they start moving at first. Like its hitting a piece of plastic on the starting motion. The wiper motion is still smooth and I can't feel anything placing my hand on the dash and window. I realize this is a horrible description, but I want to identify the potential problem before the wipers fail completely. Any thoughts on what might be failing, or how to investigate deeper? 3. I feel like the sound insulation in the top is great everywhere except right behind the windows. When there's a car in my blindspot on the left, or as a passenger on the right, the sound comes right through. Any thoughts on adding some sound insulation/barrier to this area?

#1 - you probably should get the shifting cables looked at. Might be failing and if it does fail completely it can leave you stranded. #2 - I'd lube the mechanism, which requires R&R of the wiper arms and the cowl panel under the wiper arms. Look for any pivot points and use a good quality waterproof grease. #3 - Unlikely you can do anything with that part of the top since that's where it folds, and anything you put there for noise abatement is likely to interfere with the correct folding action. Turn the radio up (hearing a car in the blindspot sounds like a GOOD THING IMHO..)

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
