Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.
Discussions that report identifying a cause
1
0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'variocam' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'variocam' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check easy stuff first' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

I believe you have fixed the problem though as the vario cam will affect just one bank and they have been known to fail.
It's a few days I have these errors (using Durametric) but no CEL light:
P1371 - Valve lift control checksum
P1362 - Valve lift control cylinder 4
P1364 - Valve lift control cylinder 5
P1360 - Valve lift control cylinder 6
The errors are present sometimes (but I'm not able to understand exactly when, but everyday I use the car I find them
Today decided to swap the actuator valves (the ones on the top of the engine) bank 1 to bank 2 but after a bit all rhe errors were present
My setup is Setup:
Cayman
2.7l 11/2006, 5 speed MT,
IPD PLENUM
, V-Flow Airfilter, Superspirnt CATLESS
Headers
, Milltek Catback CATLESS, Lightweight AASCO Flywhell, Cargraphic Underdrive Pulley.
Could someone help me?
That's okay, I moved it.
In my car I got similar codes related to a bad cat on one side; however, it sounds like you don't have any cats in your system. You say you don't have a CEL associated - are you sure they aren't old codes that were never cleared, or did they definitely appear after your most recent
exhaust
mods?
I doubt that the
Softronic
would be responsible for causing codes to appear only on 1 bank (I asked them about it when I had my issues also).
How soon after doing the
ECU
flash did you begin to notice the error codes? Without knowing more details, I would suspect the
ECU
flash as that is the cars operational software. If the errors started showing up right after the flash that would confirm my suspicions. IF the new
exhaust
and the flash were done at the same time, it could be either.
Doing a little looking, I tend to agree its not the
Softronic
, the codes are associated with a misfire problem;
P1362
Ignition Coil
C Secondary Circuit Malfunction
P1371
Ignition Coil
- Cylinder 1 - Early Activation Fault
P1364
Ignition Coil
Primary Circuit Failure
P1360
Ignition Coil
A Secondary Circuit Malfunction
If you just changed plugs and those
NGK plugs
are not standard, you're problem may be related to this change. Or you may have done something to one of the coils while changing plugs.
I'm seeing a couple things here I don't like. A no-cat
exhaust
and no CEL? You should have a CEL. Did you turn it off with the Durametric cable?
Also, I don't see here which
Softronic
flash you have. Is it the 4.1 flash for use with
Softronic
plenum or the regular
Softronic
flash? If you say it was all working fine after the flash was done, what did you change on the car nearest the time that the error showed up?
I think this is related to the
plug
change. Maybe a wire or two are loose at one end? Always check the easy stuff first.
The problem was the Variocam.
We Changed it yesterday and everything is ok, no one errors anymore
ps:I didnt receive any reply from
Softronic
and Scott
Hello,
Sorry I didn't notice the post until just now and checked the email. The one you sent went into the spam folder by mistake. I believe you have fixed the problem though as the vario cam will affect just one bank and they have been known to fail. The failure rate is very low though. They will also cause an issue if set off of spec.
Best Regards,
Scott Slauson
