The Rear Wing stuck up was simply fixed with cleaning the rams and applying lots of WD-40 then worked it, at first we had to apply force for it to go down but after 30mins of up and down its freed of nicely and works perfect now.

It's had a 6hour waxing session today, first starting with a good going over with a medium ClayBar than after all the tar marks were removed it had a buff with the powered buffer using AutoGlym polish, once polished it had another buff using AutoGlym high definition wax.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well picked the 2003 996tt up Wednesday just gone, great car with a solid engine and performance. I'm well pleased. Managed to get it into the workshop today for a good inspection and to sort out the little jobs it needs. The Rear Wing stuck up was simply fixed with cleaning the rams and applying lots of WD-40 then worked it, at first we had to apply force for it to go down but after 30mins of up and down its freed of nicely and works perfect now. I have a SimCard phone tray on order for the PCM2 head unit so that will get fixed this coming week. Other problems found. 1. Light scratch on the rear bumper (Can hardly see it but its going into the paint shop to get repaired) 2. N/S Front sill has a slight dint at the front, can only see it in the light at certain angles but not happy so this will also get sorted 3. Front Middle Rad has a slight leak at the bottom so going to order one up and replace this 4. Scuttle Panel is cracked (one on order at only £24 was well impressed with the price) Photos to follow of the vehicle tomorrow. It's had a 6hour waxing session today, first starting with a good going over with a medium ClayBar than after all the tar marks were removed it had a buff with the powered buffer using AutoGlym polish, once polished it had another buff using AutoGlym high definition wax. Tomorrow the inside is going to get the same treatment than I'll get a load of photos up. Great Cars. In a week or two we will be doing a live mapping session with this vehicle to see what we can safely get with a standard 996tt with just the software. After that who knows. Better get the visa ready for a bashing this next coming 12months. ;-)
