Josh, I've got black sport designs on mine (check the garage but they're not the best of pics) and i have to say in a very unbiased way that i think they look superb (i genuinely wasn't a fan before i saw them).
Leading evidence: 'Check garage' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check garage' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. If you really want to go down the black route then I'd recommend Lepsons, that way you keep the OEM wheels, get them refurbed AND the colour you want.

1) Change existing wheels to satin black centres, keep polished rims.

Hassle factor: Low - no size changes, simply leave car with Lepsons and collect 5 days later (although not sure they will do the centre caps)
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I am toying with changing my SportDesigns for 2 reasons:
1) I get backache cleaning them
2) I want a change of design
The car is being lowered in a few weeks and I think that will make it look slightly more agressive (its only a C2 Cab, so doesnt look aggressive in standard form). And so I am thinking of getting black wheels.
I know others have done this and would love any advice / comments. I think these are my options:
1) Change existing wheels to satin black centres, keep polished rims.
Cost: £520
Hassle factor: Low - no size changes, simply leave car with Lepsons and collect 5 days later (although not sure they will do the centre caps)
2) Trade in existing wheels and buy new set
Cost: £475-700 (after trade in, depending on choice)
Hassle factor: Medium - might need to get spacers/shims?
Having geo done in 2 weeks - will different size wheels affect geo? (If so I need to make a decision asap)
Choices: I have found these piccys on here and on the net. If anyone has any other piccys or shops, please let me know:

Any thoughts / advice v gratefully recieved. Anyone think black looks good on aggressive cars / cars with aerokit, but pants on a plain C2 Cab?
If your serious about this I have the black Le Mans wheels in that pic sat in my garage doing nothing. Bought them from Porscheshop late 2007. Was originally going to put them on my new 996 but not sure about black on black with silver rim. Just thinking about putting them on ebay. Here's a pic of them on my old silver C4
Only comment that I can offer is that I had the wheels on the 968 painted by Lepsons and they did a very nice job of it, although I went for a satin finish graphite rather than black, so I guess that's a vote for Lepsons.
Personally, I'd go for the first option if possible.
With your car lowered, I think black centres on a silver car look extremely good.
I personally wouldn't use non-OEM wheels on my car, although 996/7 Porsche wheels are BBS.
Cheers.
I agree - the only issue I have with the SportDesigns is cleaning them. Mind you, black satin wont show up dirt/dust nearly as much.
Stuart - what are those Le Mans like to clean? Similar to SportDesigns I would guess?

Cleaning is a pain in the a*s though so the 5-spoke wheels might be easier.... but then they don;t show up the dirt like the silver wheels on my runabout...
i think the le mans wheels look great though and would be tempted myself...
Tim - agree the SportDesigns and the Le Mans look awesome with the black.
So, the SportDesigns/LeMans look awesome, but are tricky to clean. Whereas the 5 spoke (black inners) are easier to clean, but personally I think 5 spoke wheels look dated (apologies to all 5 spokers).
I am closer to Lepsons than porscheshop.co.uk, and the price difference is only £45 more for refurbing existing wheels (although not sure what Stuart is asking). Sounds like the sensible decision would be to stick with original wheels and get them refurb'd in black satin.
Stuart - any idea of size & offset?
If you really want to go down the black route then I'd recommend Lepsons, that way you keep the OEM wheels, get them refurbed AND the colour you want. I had my sport designs refurbed there and was very happy with the result. Actually wished I'd had them coloured at the same time that way I wouldn't have ended up with a spare set in the garage. Just remeber that come resale they'll (probably) be harder to shift.
The Le Mans are 8J & 10J IIRC, don't know about offset but they fit on a NB C4 with 225 on the front and 285 on the back, no spacers and lowered with M030.
