Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My driver's side windshield wiper arm got caught as the blade fell part way off and now the driver's side wiper arm is not working. When I turn the wipers on, the passenger side works fine, but the driver's side wiper does not move. Any ideas on a fix? thanks.

POST 2Original post

First thing is to remove the plastic cap and tighten the nut. Then before putting the cap back watch what happens when you turn wipers on. If the shaft and nut are turning, but the blade doesn't move, splines are stripped. Hope it's the splines on the arm rather than those on the shaft.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Many thanks to all!!! So, I just put a socket on it, and there was no room to put the socket wrench on it with the hood in place, so I just grabbed the socket with a pair of pliers and turned it. It BARELY turned. Maybe a 1/16th of an inch. But THAT worked. Wiper working now. You folks rock! All the best!
