Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just dropped my car off at the OPC for a minor service. During the booking in they tried to sell me: Reconditioning of the aircon (done less than a year since) Brake fluid change (done less than a year since) Airbag service :? I had already booked in for the geometry and mentioned that the oil pressure sender drops to zero every now and then but quickly reverts back. They then wanted me to authorise a further half hour to investigate the oil pressure - I said it was quite simple and a common fault on the 996 (as they should know!) and just needs the sender replacing. The car is under warranty :x . He looked quite upset when I refused to authorise any investigation time or any of the additional services offered. Lets wait and see what they can find from the minor service that is not covered by the warranty :frustrated:

I would have put my money on Guildford, if I hadn't noticed that it must be somewhere near York!

POST 4Original post

Chiswick! :food: :food: :food: Do I get a bonus point for predicting you find 1ltr of oil in the car in a clear bag, complete with a little paper cone. How thoughtful of the OPC to give you that without asking you if you need it. Oh, and add it to your bill without you having to lift a finger.

POST 5Original post

New discs and shoes sir, Oooh Suits you sir, Suits you. LEEDS ? (Do I win a prize)

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yep.....you can pay my bill . Now updated following collection and review of the advisories and pricing Rear tyres worn (passed the MOT last week!) - £315.59 Slight judder on front brakes - £820.18 Turbo heatshields corroded - £625.32 One of the horns not working and the other on its last legs  - Warranty Coolant weeping from engine block (corroded bungs and washers) - £133.00 Non-genuine Porsche battery - £251.34 :floor: Just short of £2,200 on top of the £570 for the minor service and geometry Surprisingly couldn't find anything wrong with the oil sensor :? .....and it failed 3 times on the way home so took a photo with my camera phone (pulled over of course) and email the cowboys back. Only the lousy horns covered by warranty :?: And yes I do have the 1L container of oil that I never asked for and has appeared on the bill £12.77!

POST 7Original post

It does make you wonder what the point of the warranty is, I mean: Turbo heatshields corroded - £625.32 Coolant weeping from engine block (corroded bungs and washers) - £133.00 I guess they say these are consumables!

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
