Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

A few people on here have fitted 997 wheels onto the 996, but Porsche don't recommend this and I believe the front wheels rub on full lock (although I'm not 100% sure on this).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

need to know the offset for a 996 and a 997 c2s

POST 2Original post

I had Sport Design 18s on my 996 C2 (1999) and the offsets were: Front 7.5J ET50 Rear 10J ET65 I then bought 997 Carrera III wheels which were: Front 8J ET57 Rear 10J ET58 Hope this helps...

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so will the 997 c2s wheels fit on the 996?

POST 4Original post

C2S wheels are 19" and Porsche only supplied 18" on the 996. The specification that Jona provided should be the same offset for as the C2S wheels you mention (as the C2 and C2S 997 are both narrow bodied). A few people on here have fitted 997 wheels onto the 996, but Porsche don't recommend this and I believe the front wheels rub on full lock (although I'm not 100% sure on this).

POST 5Original post

I have the Carerra III 18" 996 Facelift C2 alloys on my 996 C2 Cab and there is no rubbing on full lock at all. You would need to check offsets for the 997 though. I have not had to space them or or change the camber to accomodate.

POST 6Original post

Hi I did move to the Carrera III and found that they did rub ever so slightly on full lock. Going down the road however, they were fine. I have now moved back to the sportdesign wheels as I do prefer the look. So If anyone would like a mint set of Carrera III with Michelin PS N3`s on, then check out the Parts section. Steve

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so i'm guessing that 8.5/f and 11/r with the c2s offset would not fit the 996

POST 8Original post

Hi Narrow body 997 rims will fit narrow body 996's I fiited 997 19" Sport Designs 8" 57ET and 11" 67ET to my '3 for road use with 15mm spacers on the front and 6mm spacers on the rear. This fills the archs. Also the ride is dropped another 10mm than a standard '3. Hope this is of help.
