Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Reported cause
It was the first time I have EVER had to replace a wheel on the 15 or so cars we have owned.
Leading evidence: 'first time i have ever had' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'first time i have ever had' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). I'd probably pass, a tire is cheaper than that and a rim can be repaired for 150$.

Suggestion
Richard - If you recall, I spent $300 to replace a cracked wheel and $215 for the tire on my wife's MB CLK.

Suggestion
You can find single wheels on eBay all day long for a couple hundred and tires are not that expensive to replace, let alone repair.

This is a new one on me....buying a new 645i conv.....they offered me the above listed package for $589.....if we run over a nail & blow a tire, or hit a pothole and bend the 19" rims, or anything like that, they replace w/new OEM stuff......

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

is it worth it?
I dunno.... BMW rims bend very easily.. I spent $2000 over the 4 years I had my M3, in part because some of the rims bent beyond what was repairable...funny thing is I don't even remember a significant single impact, just noticing the vibration one day (maybe valet parking?)
I just purchased a similar plan when I bought my porsche from the dealership. It has already been put to use. I had a screw near the sidewall of the tire (apprx.$350). The replaced it no questions asked. Everywhere else I called required 3 or more days to get me a correct sized tire. The dealership had it in stock.
Probably better asked on BMW board, but:
Many, many buyers of new 6's and 5's are dumping the OEM run-flats. Make sure you're happy with the run-flats before you pay for a plan to replace them. You may decide to ditch them anyway. The run-flats are getting better, but aren't quite there yet in my opinion.
Richard, had the same thing offered to me when we bought the Pepper this past Saturday. They wanted $995!!!!! And all it covers is nail, etc., in the tire and bent rims from potholes. DOES NOT COVER CURB RASH, ETC. Talk about a rip off. Had it been closer to $50 a wheel I would have done it. You can find single wheels on eBay all day long for a couple hundred and tires are not that expensive to replace, let alone repair. My advice would be to pass. Most Discount Tire places will let you buy their road hazard warranty (tires only) without buying the tires from them (ie, the tires currently on your car). That might be a better choice.
So, what do you do if you have say 7K miles on your rears and you get one of the rears ruined? They replace one and you drive with one new one and one old one? I can do that in my SUV but on the porsche?
Knowing my wife, if I stay out of her business, she'll keep the car 5 years, and put less than 60 k on it.....especially since the body style only came out in '04. I'm going to buy....but I did learn a lot from you guys on leasing.....my acc't told me he's writing off the P as my business car, and cannot justify 2 bus cars....therefore, he suggested having her keep 5 yrs, and purchasing.
I'm gonna pass on the w & t "package"
It's like all insurance. They wouldn't sell it if they didn't make money on it. It may be worth buying if you A) can't afford to self-insure (not likely in this case), or B) have a higher likelihood of needing the repairs.
Richard - If you recall, I spent $300 to replace a cracked wheel and $215 for the tire on my wife's MB CLK. This happened while she was out of town, 2 hours away. It was the first time I have EVER had to replace a wheel on the 15 or so cars we have owned. I almost expect wheel problems to increase as the move to more light weight alloy compounds.
