Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Car was used on Friday for a good 160 mile run, and had been on trickle charge before then.

I don't think the battery's to blame- its only been in the car 6 months, and has been used regularly until the last few weeks.

Anyway, not sure of fuse - although check owners manual to see if it shows you which one it is in the fuse panel (by drivers foot)

Mark is probably right about his method being easier than using the keys ...
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My CDR 22 went wrong on Friday (appeared to 'crash'), and won't respond to any controls, no lights on etc.
However, a moment ago, the alarm on the car sounded- battery completely flat!
Car was used on Friday for a good 160 mile run, and had been on trickle charge before then. No odd warning lights on Friday.
I think the CDR22 is therefore still on in some way and draining the battery- is there an easy way of disabling the stereo, e.g a fuse etc?
Failing that, how do I take it out?
Thanks.
To take out the radio out you'll need to insert a pair of radio removal keys into the slots on the facia and pull like bug@ery.
You can often find them for sale on eBay. Failing that, I could give you a lend of mine via the post. I have an ealier radio, but I believe the keys are still the same.
Bosch silver, bosch silver, bosch silver...
Anyway, not sure of fuse - although check owners manual to see if it shows you which one it is in the fuse panel (by drivers foot)
failing that to remove stereo you need 2 silver 'keys' hat insert into slots on either side of the stereo. They are for any becker stereo. Try halfords? or ebay. dirt cheap - £3
Thanks for the offer of the keys JT... I'll have a look for the fuse in the first instance.

Its funny though how things start playing up when you don't use them all the time. Makes the case for 'low mileage' cars weak IMO.

The keys aren't essential for stereo removal
in fact i think its easier using this method
areound the air con controls theres a s sqaure ring, take out the ring, its soft rubber
then remove the air con controls, they're held in by 2 phillips screws
pull out the air con controls and leave them dangle on theyre wires
then pop your hand in behind the radio and pull it forward
its held in by a large metal clip
The flat battery episode does appear to have rebooted the CDR22... its little red security light was flashing this morning, which it had not done since it conked out on friday morning. Most odd.
