Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I replaced the red plastic clips that usually snap in half after a while of using them.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey everyone!! I just purchased a 1999 Boxster 2.5 and it had a issue with the top. I replaced the red plastic clips that usually snap in half after a while of using them. But my problem seems kind of strange. The motor for the top works if I hook it up manually. both sides the transmissions are good too. What is between the switch and the top motor. Is it just the relay?? if I have the long relay in there, the windows will still go down after I release the top. Also the central locks switch, window heater or the top switch dont light up on the right side of the radio(the traction control switch on the let lights up tough). Are they all connected somehow? Or do they have a rely that controls all the switches there?

POST 2Original post

I have the same issue with my 99 986 but my open top light stays on even though the top is closed. I am guessing it is the cut off switch that sites above the drive motor.
