Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If you combine that with an OPC that is all too keen to maximise their revenue, I reckon you can come up with a list of items for the OPC to 'check' when servicing, and you might find a lot of new stuff on your car, for free!

Suggestion

My local trigger happy OPC have run out of things to replace under warranty on my car, and I'd think I'd need a bl00dy good line to bag a new engine

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It strikes me that there are a few items on a 996 that are covered by warranty and are more prone to failure than the rest of the car. If you combine that with an OPC that is all too keen to maximise their revenue, I reckon you can come up with a list of items for the OPC to 'check' when servicing, and you might find a lot of new stuff on your car, for free! Here is my list of comments you may want to drop into conversation when you leave your car for servicing: 1) "I noticed some corrosion on my radiators, is that normal...?" 2)"I noticed some oil under the car, could that be the 'RMT' issue I hear about? Oh, and if you're doing the RMS, please do me a new clutch and intermediate shaft seal at the same time" 3) "My horn sounded quite squeeky and high pitched the other day..." 4) "I saw a small crack on my collant bottle, I dont suppose that is covered, is it...?" 5) "ooh, my air con doesnt seem as cold as before" (but dont re-gas without my permission! I'm sure its the condensers...) 6) "I am so in tune with my car that I can tell just by listening that one/all of the coil packs have gone..." Anyone got any others? (PS, this thread is slightly tongue in cheek, before people accuse me of being an uber-pikey) 8)

POST 2Original post

I get a slight hesitation on full throttle - almost as if the AIRFLOW through the manifolds isn't being measured correctly...
