I also run Ate Typ200 brake fluid (run it for street & track) for a really great brake pedal feel.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I"m looking to install some coilovers(996 4s), and brake pads/rotors while I'm at it.
No track days planned, just want to upgrade for a nicer ride.
Was hoping for some opinions...
- Any sub $2k coilovers worth looking at, or just get the Road and Tracks?
- And what are some good options for rotor sets?
Thanks!
If you're looking for a set to have a more aggressive stance and better handling, but don't plan to track them - the
H&R Street
set is around the $2k price marker. As far as rotors, I'm a big fan of slotted Brembo rotors. Best of luck!

Sebro or Zimmerman rotors are the 996 rotor of choice. They're perfect for street and track applications. I, personally, prefer slotted/vented rotors vs. drilled. The Sebro's offer a slotted/vented rotor that are a great choice.

For pads, Akebono is a great low dust street pad. I'd suggest those pads or HAWK. If you aren't going to do any track time the Akebono and the HAWK Ceramic pads are what I recommend. The HAWK Ceramics are low dust and noise. I also run Ate Typ200 brake fluid (run it for street & track) for a really great brake pedal feel.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the items I listed.
At 163,000 miles I replaced the H&R springs on mine with the coilover H&R street set.
The front spring mounts where shot and I replaced them with the Tarett front camber plate set. My thrust bearing were in decent shape but not well greased. consider replacing them also. I cleaned and greased mine, minor job:-)
The car came with the M030 suspension option, I think now that the springs and the shocks have worked in the ride is slightly softer and there is not as much center tracking when going straight. The steering feels much lighter and turn in takes less effort. Turn exit takes some input to the wheel, it doesn't roll out of a corner like it did.
Light hands and a gentle touch I think is what some people say.
The old springs had the ride height at 15 1/4 from wheel center to inside of wheel arch all around. Good stance. For the new setup I went with 15 3/8 all around.
H&R could do a better job of documenting the install. I sure wouldn't take this work to my local tire store. It's not their interest area.
Worth the money, I think its a good highway setup
Thanks for the input guys.
Rotors and pads are otw. Still debating which coilover.
Now for exhaust
Don't want drone for sure.
Muffler delete? Cat back?
Happy we could help. Let us know how you like those rotors/pads when you get them installed.
For exhaust, it really depends on what you want to spend. You could do a muffler delete for a cheaper alternative. Maybe do a quick Google search for some exhaust YouTube videos to hear them yourself, but I'm a big fan of BillyBoat Performance exhausts myself. I've installed this brand onto multiple Audi's and VW's with great results - no drone.

For the price, the quality and sound are wonderful. It'll be one of the cheaper alternatives on the market for your C4S. Let me know if you have any questions.
