I just purchased a beautiful 1987 Carrera. The car is in excellent condition overall except the dash. Someone in a rush to get something covering the dash put a rigid vinyl dash cover in place. It doesn't fit properly and is coming loose form its attachment points. I want to replace it as soon as possible to keep the car in excellent condition. I am open to suggestions for a source or a particular way to replace the dash. I haven't had much luck in sourcing a replacement. The car is now my daily driver but is garaged. Just need a little help in sourcing.... Thanks to you all in advance! Kendall

Pelican Parts. Stoddard Porsche. Performance Parts for Porsche. All these vendors have dash replacements. LA Porsche Dismantlers often has OEM dash parts taken off wrecks. All these folks have websites. Good luck!

Had the same issue withmy 88 911. Found a used dash in perfect shape. search the used Porsche sites...20th Street Auto, Oklahoma Foriegn ,La Dismantlers There are others...DC Automotive ? Pelicanparts has good info on how to replace dash. I had my mechanic do it...car already there for other things...the old, while you are there thing ! Good luck with the car.

Take the vinyl dash cover off and simply keep the original dash protected with a UV product like 303, especially since you garage it anyway. If it is leather (many from 87-89 were) then you want to treat it frequently with a leather protectant and that's it.
