Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I've seen a very good deal on a set direct from the US and the way the $ is at the moment I'm very tempted.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, has anyone got any views on Bilstein PSS9s? I've seen a very good deal on a set direct from the US and the way the $ is at the moment I'm very tempted. Currently have the factory lowered M030 kit and wondering how much difference the new kit would provide. Many thanks for any info you guys may have.

POST 2Original post

They have a solid reputation, price wise Adjustable H&R may be better but if the deal is good then worth considering.

POST 3Original post

Superb reputation, top quality and a natural progression on from M030.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks. $1899.00 as price online but don't know about shipping + import duty yet.

POST 5Original post

There was a set of adjustable suspension for a 996 on pistonheads the other day, can't remember the brand and it may not ba any good, but could be worth a look.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I know Trying to work out import duty, it's a bloody minefield. Apparently there is a 10 digit coding system with 14000 classifications! Anyone imported something similar before? Using a 10% import duty and 17.5% VAT it's still £500 cheaper than the cheapest here.

POST 8Original post

If you get the seller to ship via USPS there's a good chance you won't get charged duty OR VAT. Pot luck really. Dave

POST 9Original post

I wouldn't expect duty to be as much as 10%, not for car parts.

POST 10Original post

However if you can get the seller to put on the packaging that it is a gift you will not get any duty. Done this a few times with a company in the USA when I bought bike parts and never got charged duty but not alwauys 100% but maybe worth a try, just don't bank on it look at it as a bonus if it works

POST 12Original post

I import a lot of stuff through UPS and they always charge handling + VAT. Fedex are better. Are you VAT reg? If you can get them to attach [supplier] to attach invoice to show cost price to them it will save you a bit.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So that looks like a new set of PSS9s in my hand would cost (from a US dealer) aprox £1200. M030 is selling X74s for a C4 @ £1200 or I could just get H&R lowering springs to go with my M030 dampers @ £200 Suggestions please... It's all getting complicated...

POST 14Original post

Go for the X74s, no messing around with setup etc, you could spend many, many hundreds more with the suspension setup on the PSS-9s as you try to determine all the factors needed. The X74 is a factory option and should add to the value of the car, with the PSS-9 you'll be lucky to recover any of the cost.
