Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My passenger side HID has stopped working, think it's the bulb but could be the ballast. Thing is the bulb is hard wired so can't just swap it over. Does anyone know if I have to buy a complete new kit or can you get replacement bulbs or ballasts? Thanks

POST 2Original post

not good... they are essential 2 piece, ballasts + wiring then bulb + wiring you would just need the bulb section the sellor should give you a straight swap under warranty

POST 3Original post

Hi, try swopping the ballast from side to side and see if that changes anything. It is 9 out of 10 times the ballast that fails in my experience. Mike www.sportsandclassic.com

POST 4Original post

If it's a HID4U kit I've read they are great for warranty
