Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Should both cooling fans run at the same time or does one lag the other?

POST 2Original post

Quotes source post: 401396

both run at the same time. low speed and high speed. if you have issue with one of the fans or speed, most chances its a bad fan resistor. the resistor is located on the bumper next to each one of the fans.

POST 3Original post

If one starts then the other follows after a while, try this... As soon as one fan goes on, tap on the other fan motor with a small hammer. If the fan starts the fan's brushes are toast and are barely making contact. Replace fan motor.
