Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking to import a 2003 911 convertable from the US to Europe. The only problems I forsee (besides transport and duties) is the converting of the speedo to kph and maybe issues with the satnav. Anybody had any experience converting speedos and satnav?

POST 2Original post

The 996 facelift has (I believe) an on board computer as standard equipment. On my old one, it was a simple matter of changing it via the computer.

POST 3Original post

That's right, the instructions for doing this are in the handbook. However I'd assume all that is required are a set of replacement dial faces as the needle has the same sweep regardless of mph/kph.

POST 5Original post

Yeah I was thinking the same, never look at the dial, only the digital display.

POST 6Original post

Yeah - stupid design of the analogue speedo to read in 25mph increments and more so for the facelift cars to have the digital speedo moved over from the tachometer into the speedo area. ~ Maxie :what:

POST 7Original post

Is it not MPH in the USA anyway, therefore not an issue, re Sat Nav, not sure but not simply a case of new set of discs for the UK & Euro info ? "Berty" will be along shortly to clarify I'm sure. Other thing to think about, is converting rear bumper to Euro spec. Not a major job "I believe" removing the additional bumperettes, and fitting euro style bumper. Good luck.

POST 9Original post

The septics are weird - drive on the right but still work in feet and inches. :?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the advice guys. It is much appreciated. I had heard you could change it via the onboard computer but nice to have it confirmed. Cheers!
