Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just bought a Tech equipment gearknob to replace the standard one on my 996 TT. The new gearknob fixes on with a grub screw with an allen key but I cannot work out how to remove the old gearknob as it has no such fitting. Is it glued on or screwed on? Can any one assist as I dont want to force anything?

POST 2Original post

If you squeeze in the plastic surround of the gearshift gaitor and lift the gaitor all the way up, it should reveal the grub screw.

And watch you don`t smash yourself in the face :hand:

POST 5Original post

The original one on my old Targa had the grub screw.

POST 6Original post

Mine has a grub screw, just slides off when that is loose. I have the ali pack shift knob.
