Hello! I'm looking for advice from the wiser folks here on how to deal with a recent Recaro purchase through Carnewal. In mid-October 2024, I ordered a pair of Recaro Pole Position Carbon (ABE) seats in black Porsche leather (similar to these ones advertised by Gert , but in CFRP instead of GFRP). I paid roughly $5,500 and was told it would take 4 weeks for Gert to get the seats from Recaro, and it would take 3-4 days for him to ship them to me. Now it's mid-January 2025 and I haven't received the seats! The main reason is Recaro's bankruptcy last year. As of now Recaro has not provided any delivery ETA. I would like to wait longer but (i) I am annoyed about my $5,000+ being held up indefinitely, I didn't plan to give Recaro an interest-free loan, and (ii) I'll soon run out of my credit card's dispute time limit. What would you do in my situation? I have just emailed Gert to ask Recaro to cancel the order if production hasn't begun. I plan to file a dispute if nothing changes by next week. But I am happy to change my plan if someone has more experience handling these types of issues.

I don’t have any Recaro specific information, but if I was in your shoes I would dispute it before the deadline. I do have a set of newly installed Recaro Sportster GT seats. Fine seats. But the rail kit had some issues.

Well Gert just resolved this for me and refunded me! That makes the decision much easier for me. I'll hold off for now and try ordering them again when he has some in stock, I don't think I'll do a made-to-order from Recaro again.
