Thanks for the advise from others on this forum, doable job, but maybe a better use of my time is to work my day job, and let a pro handle this project.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi Folks Happy Holiday Weekend I did some searching, however, I could not locate the advise I was looking for. Model 2001 C2 I was attempting to install a Cold Air Intake by top speed, so I decided to take a peek at the throttle body, looked clean, no excessive grunge near the throttle valve. I looked deep inside and noticed what looked like oil beads on the intake tube pipe . Upon close inspection with a paper towel on a stick - it appears to be oil - mixture. Also, I have noticed a little oil consumption, after 1400 miles (-2bars on the dash reading) Typically I notice almost none at this point in time. - Car is tight, not a leak that I can see. I really look it over every few weeks - up close. I have been driving the car with some spirit, in the last few months, 3500-5500rpm range for 60-100 mile drives. Question:> is some oil considered normal in the throttle body ? Question:> is 2 bars down after 1400 miles considered normal under - spirited driving ? any feedback is greatly appreciated. pic attached, it is hard to shoot this, and i did wipe some residue from the middle of the T-body, before taking the pic - yes - rookie move. On the edge, you can see some instance of oil. Thank you for the advise Mark

POST 2Original post

Search for "AOS". Lots of info here and on Renntech forum. Johan

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

On advise from others - I deferred on an AOS replacement. This topic was generated by: I was replacing a cracked oil filler pipe, and installing a cold air intake, when I noticed oil moisture in my TB . So thoughts were to just replace the AOS since the alternator was removed and clearance was increase. Good news was that back is spring I took a vacuum reading from my homemade manometer, at 6lbs, and 10 months later it is still 6lbs . I believe that is in normal range. ( if not- please jump in and advise ) Thanks for the advise from others on this forum, doable job, but maybe a better use of my time is to work my day job, and let a pro handle this project. Happy Holidays and Thank you Mark

Mark, Before you fit the CAI, you may want to check with the experts that you haven't got one of the condemned "Hot Air Intakes". Some of the CAI systems are worse than OEM,much worse.IPD + CAI is a good benchmark according to those who know this subject.
