This is not a probability of success.

Apparently it has a parking brake lockout to prevent use while driving, but that was not hooked up to the parking brake.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a new-to-me 2002 C4S, but have been a long time pelican with my 944 Turbo. My car came with a Pioneer touchscreen. I'm wondering how to remove it from the dash. I believe there are double DIN tools, but not sure how that would work here? Do I need levers to pull at the sides? PS - the reason for removing the stereo is that it is partially locked. Apparently it has a parking brake lockout to prevent use while driving, but that was not hooked up to the parking brake.

POST 2Original post

a local stereo shop may have what you need. on an older model I have it takes 2 flat bars 1/4 wide, 4 inch long and 1/10 in thick. find a slot on each side and slide them in about 3 inches. it should release spring tabs that pop into the side of the stereo. Does the screen remove from the faceplate? you may have to take it out to find the slots. good luck Lance

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Lance. Took the dash surround off today, and that was the answer. Interior is in pieces, but I now have access to it.

POST 4Original post

Great I hope your harness isn't as chopped up as mine. All those small wires are delicate
