Silly question but does the solisto plug in to where you would disconnect the CD Changer under the bonnet or do you have to remove the radio (I have PCM sat nav) from the dash and plug it in behind the unit where the CD changer cables would have previously plugged in?

if youve got a CDR21, you could get a solisto box, which replaces the cd changer, and allows you connet an Ipod direct, with all controls from the radio

I guess that if I use an I-pod instead of an MP3 then I'll need the Solisto, is this box fitted in the same place as the cd changer would go or is it fittted inside the car, finally is this a DIY job or will I need my local ICE guy?

Hi, What options are available for attaching MP3 players to CDR21/22s? (don't want to use a radio transmitter - unless an absolutely brilliant unit is now on the market)

Mike's is a pre-facelift, pre-MOST car, so the Mobridge might not be compatible. I know Denison make an interface for iPod, but not sure about other MP3 players. Personally, I'd change the head unit for something that is compatible. Probably cheaper and more effective. You can always keep the CDR21/22 to put back in the car when you sell it, if you want to retain originality.

If you've got a CDR-21/22, all you need is to connect a lead with Stereo 3,5mm Jack plug on one end, and 2 phono sockets on the other. (or a phono to jack converter). Connect the phono end to the CD preparation phono plugs, and the jack plug to your MP3. Use a long enough cable and you can run it in to the car and have full control.

The Solsto is good you can connect ipod and charge plus you get a 3.5mm plug for MP3/Nokia 95 As John said it's easy to fit, plug and play, it replaces the multichanger.
