Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

I was led to believe that I could retain the seat positions (and maybe the mirror position) through the use of the key remote.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Hi: I recently acquired a 2008 CS. The Vin check window sticker says the vehicle has the Power Seat Option (PS15) but there is no memory panel on the driver's-side door or the seat itself. I was led to believe that I could retain the seat positions (and maybe the mirror position) through the use of the key remote. So far I haven't been successful. Can anybody shed some light of how to retain the positions. Thanks in advance. Dennis

POST 2Original post

I wonder if this is a programming issue. It might be worth your time to ask a local dealer or Porsche indy shop with a PIWIS to make sure that function has been activated. There is also the possibility that the seat or door panel has been replaced at some point. Good luck!

I'd hunt around for an owner's manual so you won't have to guess or ask around for details. These cars have some quirky features and you will find lots of things to play with. Should be able to find a pdf for 987.1 Cayman . 2005-2008 doesn't matter. Even a Boxster manual will have most of the same features.

POST 4Original post

I do have a 987.1 owner's manual. Here are the relevant pages.

POST 5Original post

Here is a link which will allow you to download the manual in a .pdf https://billswebspace.com/Owners_Manual_Boxster_PCNA.pdf

Hi @dennisafriedman - Welcome to P9! Hopefully the above suggestions will get you started. I'd suggest that you post some photos of your car door so we can help get you on the right track. Also: 1) Please make sure to keep things to "one thread, one topic" instead of creating a new thread if you don't find the answer you're looking for. 2) Please be sure to introduce yourself with car photos in the new members section first before asking tech questions -- it's a strong tradition here. Thanks and enjoy.
