I have just replaced the MAF sensor unit on my '98 86k C2, and am staggered by the rejuvinating effect it has had on the car's performance, right through the revs.

The unit was around £150 from Eurocarparts (or around £400 if you prefer to go to your OPC) and the operation was easier than changing a headlight bulb.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have just replaced the MAF sensor unit on my '98 86k C2, and am staggered by the rejuvinating effect it has had on the car's performance, right through the revs. The unit was around £150 from Eurocarparts (or around £400 if you prefer to go to your OPC) and the operation was easier than changing a headlight bulb. If you have ANY doubt as to the condition of your MAF I can thoroughly recommend getting it checked, and don't hesitate to change it if necessary. That's the car sorted. Looking for a quick fix for me now. Jon
