I have been impressed with them so far, I have mine set around 18 clicks from the bottom, gives me a good mix of sport suspension while still being able to hit speed bumps at a decent clip.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 40th AE and am planning to install Feal 441+ coilovers to lower the car about 1.5 inches. I have read mixed comments on here about whether lowering to this degree will induce bump steer, and whether I should get one of the aftermarket bump steer solutions like Elephant Racing or RSS (need for both front and rear?). Im also wondering whether I should get the Tarett drop links for the sway bars (again, front and rear?). The car has 55k miles on it, so Im considering what else I should do in terms of a refresh while Im in there. Im trying to keep this fairly budget friendly. The car is a weekend toy and I plan to do a few autox events per year and maybe track day or two, but do not want to compromise street manners. Any thoughts or opinions on this would be much appreciated.

POST 2Original post

I installed FEALS a few months ago. I'm very happy with them. I lowered the car 1" all around. I did some autocrossing a few days ago to test out suspension settings. I went up 5 clicks at a time from softest to firmest, and settled on 10 clicks (out of 30 possible) from the softest setting. I feel like the ride is about the same as the stock suspension with that adjustment. I have adjustable end links, but haven't installed them yet. If you're not tracking it, I think they're overkill. I like the new ride height. The one inch lowering is just right as far as I'm concerned. I have speed bumps in my town, and don't want to bottom out.

POST 3Original post

I put the Feel 441s on this summer and agree with everything modern356 stated. At their highest ride height setting I am a little over 1" lower than stock, I managed a little over 2deg of camber on all 4 corners and could definitely go more. I have been impressed with them so far, I have mine set around 18 clicks from the bottom, gives me a good mix of sport suspension while still being able to hit speed bumps at a decent clip. The main "while you are in there" that I did was to replace all the stock control arms and links and tie rods with fresh OEM replacement rubber. My car had about 80K and the fresh rubber definitely made a big difference. I went with the hamburg stuff from pelican, and give is a so/so review, the control arms and links were just fine, but the tie rod kit was a mess, so I don't know if I would recommend that brand, but plenty of other options for reasonable costs.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Did you guys get the GT comfort (long stroke) option or the standard setup? I got the latter hoping for a 1-1.5 drop, but the car now sits much lower. My shop says they have the ride height maxed out including the spacer provided by Feal. I emailed Feal and am hoping I dont need a different set of coilovers. Heres how it sits now, about 4 inches from road to front bumper:

POST 5Original post

I am using the standard 441s not the long travel. It doesn't look like your shop has figured out how to set the max ride height. I would give the feel guys a call, I spoke to them on the phone at least once, and they were very helpful. I know when setting the ride height there was a minimum engagement needed between the pieces (20mm) I had to spend some time to be sure I was getting that dimension correct, your shop could have set too much engagement and thus limiting the max ride height allowed. From the install guide: Here is a better picture showing my current ride height with the feels, I am running them with as much ride height as I could get, and I am pretty sure it was a little over 1" lower than stock

POST 6Original post

Definitely seems like user error there with ride height. Feal and some other coilovers allow you to set ride height independently of the spring preload. It seems like the shop might have used that setting to adjust height, which is not correct. There's a second rotating ring at the bottom that essentially lengthens or shortens the entire shock body.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all the help! They figured it out, now sits about perfect for my liking. Will post a review once Ive put some miles on it.
