Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My car was fitted with Bilstein PSS9 coillovers, within the first two years of its li&e. As the car is now 20 years old, they were beginning to look very rough and I felt the ride and handling were deteriorating (though hard to tell as these things happen so incrementally.
I exchanged emails with Center Gravity, and they thought it should be possible for them to be refurbished rather than replaced. At the same time, CG would perform their usual inspection and refresh. Bilstein, who are just down the road from CG, confirmed a full refurb of the 4 shocks would take a week. The car was booked into CG and I did a 'before" evaluation drive and set of measurements with Pete. Then the shocks were removed and Holly drove them over to Bilstein. CG kindly agreed to keep the car on a spare ramp and we made plans for me to return the following week for the detailed setup and 'after" evaluation.
Long story short, Bilstein took over 4 weeks to complete the refurb. We never really got to the bottom of why but seems to have been a combination of parts availability and shot-blasting and re-coating being outsourced. I suspect the truth is they were in worse condition than they had expected... I wouldn't have minded if they hadn't originally said they could do it in a week - I had no particular need of the car - I felt more sorry for CG who were stuck with my immobilised porker for a month...
Eventually I got the call that they were ready and fixed a date to collect the car. In fairness, the refurbished dampers look amazing. Due to parts availability, the rears were upgraded to PSS10, new springs, new adjusters. All beautifully finished in the new Bilstein colour scheme. Genuinely as good as new. And significantly cheaper than new (£1,362 inc VAT plays £2,000). Really delighted.
The usual thorough, and thoroughly enjoyable, CG assessment suggested I also needed new front top mounts and bearings, new track control arms all round and new engine mounts. Otherwise, all was good. Pretty impressive after 20 years/ 75,000 miles, I recon.
As well as the drive back from CG to London, I've now had a couple of long trips in the car and have really fallen back in love with it. There a real confidence to the road holding that I just didn't have before. I'm sure it's partly psychological; just knowing that everything is tip top. I think the engine mounts are probably the most noticeable improvement, and they have really firmed up the gear change, which was one of my biggest gripes.
