Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Was out in the car today when the screen started to flicker as though the backlight was going. The screen went completely blank as though you have used the "dark" button. All the other functions still work Can anyone offer any advice or assistance.

POST 2Original post

The screen can be replaced, but it is quite an expensive job. Try: http://revtronic.com/?portfolio=porsche-navigation-lcd-screen-repair-all-models or http://www.mapleaudio.co.uk/ There are a few DIY's around on the web and YouTube. Just Google 'Porsche PCM Screen Replacement'.

POST 3Original post

Chris - I'm also interested as my screen's just started to flicker as well. I'd be interested to see which option you go for and how it turns out - so please keep us updated on this thread. Maybe if a repair is expensive, an aftermarket unit with decent nav, bluetooth, mp3 connection may be the way to go?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Does anyone know where the parts can be obtained to do a DIY repair?
