Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used a photo of Rod's car almost identical to yours in my book.
Leading evidence: 'Use photo of rod's car almost identical' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run accross' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Has anybody got experiencein of using sound deadening techniques to solve drone issue?
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I f I order an exhaust from Germany is there any extra to pay via duty or vat? Seems like the best price for me so just wondered if there were any hidden snags.[
]
No, it's within the EU so no extras to pay. If you can reclaim VAT, quote them your VAT number & they will invoice without VAT. You then pay the VAT via the intrastat mechanism but at the UK rate not the German one.
You will be charged German VAT by the supplier (currently 19%), unless as Rod says, you are VAT registered in the UK. There is no import duty from the EU.
I'm not sure Rod is quite correct, because if you are VAT registered the supplier does not add local VAT to their invoice, and you do not have to pay UK VAT on import. Effectively it is an exempt purchase, but you would have to add VAT should you resell the item in the UK.
Will do the sound clip when fitted. Its the Dansk sports exhaust, but oem type. Seems better deal than any other suppliers. The seller says vat @ 19% is already in the price. So hopefully all will be ok, will keep updated.[
]
I bought my Dansk exhaust directly from Ottle auto dienst Germany.
It was delivered really quickly, vat was paid at local German rate of 19%, €799 including fitting kit.
I bought a Dansk 96.330s sports system. A little louder than std but not obtrusive and looks completely OE standard, which is what I wanted.
Initially i was very impressed and did some long runs with no issue, e.g. mixed speed run accross from Stranraer in Scotland to Scarborough.
More recently I did a long motorway run at 80mph Belfast - Limerick and after 4 hrs had a sore ears, there seems to be some sort of resonance at higher constant speed which is a pity as it is not really noisy. At 80mph in 6th gear the revs are quite low.
Anybody got and solutions to resonance issue?
Cheers
Gordon
I hope that I dont have the drone problem, but the exhaust is the same as above post, and from same supplier. Oettle auto dienst. Wanted to keep pretty much standard. so fingers crossed.[

It was me, not Rod, giving out duff VAT advice [
]
You are quite right. I was thinking of Box 2 on the VAT return where you have to account for VAT due on acquisitions. That figure is added into your Sales VAT. However, Box 4 allows you to reclaim the VAT on acquisitions from the EU again. I'm sure it all makes sense to someone at HMRC [8|]
Every time (luckily not very often) I need to fill in a VAT return that involves purchases from the EU it confuses me completely.
No there must be a better solution out there.
The Dansk system seems like a quality part, and its not loud, the issue is at motorway speeds so revs are low in 6th gear.
(Don't Dansk make parts directly for Porsche?)
Cheers
I've a sound and vibration consutancy background, much of my work involving various aspects of vehicle development. I can tell you that maufacturers devote a
LOT
of time trying to achieve a desirable in-car balance of intake and exhaust sound, whilst avoiding boom conditions, for different driving scenarios: part and full-throttle acceleration and over-run in different gears, constant speed conditions, etc.
Unless the aftermarket exhaust system has been developed thoroughly with a specific intake system, it's always possible that there will be some NVH issues. And because it's best to tackle problems at source, it's unlikely that sound deadening techniques will be of use if problems are encountered.

Now have Dansk mufflers fitted. Very impressed with quality. Now have to decide what to do with Switchable Eisenman exhaust, that was removed. indy had to cut bottom brackets off to remove.[
