Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Saw that the 70-1787 harness was recommended but it appears that the pins do not match my OEM plug, metra website recommends 70-9401 which appears to also have the same pin outs as what I ordered.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Last time I have done a aftermarket radio swap was about 15 years ago and I am hitting roadblocks everywhere trying to do my 03 996. Original radio is CDR 23 (BE 6612) (996 645 129 02) and is working, I am trying to upgrade to a single DIN android auto. Saw that the 70-1787 harness was recommended but it appears that the pins do not match my OEM plug, metra website recommends 70-9401 which appears to also have the same pin outs as what I ordered. I have no power to the HU. Reinstallation of OEM radio is working. The yellow wire fits an empty pin in the metra harness, the black ground connects to the OEM brown wire (which is ok i think), orange/white ILL (not used), red wire to red wire (seems ok). Then there are OEM wires in the harness that do not fit at all to the new harness (light blue, black and yellow, white, black and blue) I would prefer not to cut outside the harness, what is the correct harness to use for this setup? OEM harness from the car
